Eddi Reader - Candyfloss and Medicine (Album)

Year of Release: 1996

Eddi has again collaborated with the person on whose behalf she received a Brit award (although the world was not aware of this fact) for the success of "The Patience of Angels". I am talking about none other than Mr. Boo Hewerdine, who, true to form, keeps a low profile. And don't they compliment one another? Eddi's rendition of "Candyfloss" really brings the song to life (sorry Boo, but your version does nothing for me). And Mr. Hewerdine is not the only one who Eddi has covered songs by: the appearance of Gene Pitney's "Town Without Pity" is a welcome embellishment to the album. But Eddi is a very capable writer in her own right with a voice which is hard to beat.
