I went to Santorini in June 2009.  It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to.   Some of the villages are high up in the mountains, affording the most spectacular views... and the sunsets are breathtaking!

There are pristine white buildings everywhere and narrow winding alleyways, which can easily disorientate your internal navigation system...

The only problem with the uphill climbs was the searing heat and humidity and of course the higher you go the air becomes thinner.

Santorini comprises of a cluster of volcanic islands and it is stated that these islands were formed after a gigantic volcanic eruption, which resulted in some of the original (much larger) island being lost to the sea.  There are also theories suggesting that the Atlantis myth was based on Santorini!

Whatever you believe, Santorini is definitely a magical place.  As for the music which I experienced there, well most of the music was, as you would expect, in the bars and restaurants.  The music was fairly upbeat and one of the bands which I came across was a latino style band which did a pretty good cover version of "Black Magic Woman" which got a lot of people up on their feet.

I would recommend Santorini if you enjoy visiting places of natural beauty.
