The Waterboys - Room to Roam (Album)

Year of Release: 1990

This album creates a feel good factor of fifty. From foot tapping traditional tracks, e.g. "Natural Bridge Blues", that any small fishing community would be proud of, to more modern tracks (such as "Bigger Picture" and "Life of Sundays") which are more akin to the Waterboys we knew of old. And then there are the love songs, "How Long will I Love You?" and "A Man is in Love" which celebrate the emotion but not in a gushy, Celine Dion kind of way. These have to be contrasted with the soul slicing "Something that is Gone" which it is rumoured was written by Mr. Scott whilst in a New York hotel room. Least not must we forget the gypsy ballad.
